Search engine optimization(SEO)
It uses the volume of clicks and quality of a web site to rank web pages through different methods. SEO that use spiders to find web pages list the pages in "organic" or "algorithmic" search results. The web pages that are published earlier and ranked higher will be more likely to get most clicks from searchers. SEO can also target specific type of search, such as: local search, image search, or specific to an industry vertical search engines.
Understanding how people search online is important to optimizing the chances of a website being found web crawler. The process of a search involves a search engine spider downloading a page and then indexing the information based on the content, specific word in the page and it's relevancy to search. The leading search engines, Yahoo, Google, and Live use crawlers to find web page on their algorithmic search results. Google is credited for revolutionizing the page ranking.
Search engines are the most commonly used practice for bringing track to a website. However, it is not wise to entirely depend on search engines due to the lack of their guaranty that they will always be there. Instead, a better, more practical source of maximizing traffic is linking from other website.
